Maharajganj (Uttar Pradesh):Three women from Nepal were arrested here with contraband cannabis worth around Rs.25 lakh, police said Friday. Devmata Vishwakarma, Umbeera and Vipinbhooda -- all in their mid 40s -- were nabbed late Thursday following a joint operation by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) troopers and district police along the India-Nepal border in Sunauli town.'The women have been involved in the drug trade since five years. They operated in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi and Haryana,' said police inspector Mahesh Ram Gautam in Maharajganj, some 300 km from Lucknow. The women belonged to Nepal's Baglung district and were on their way to hand over a drugs consignment in Gorakhpur district.
